1983, Heiko Maile, Marcus Meyn, Martin Kähling and Oliver Kreyssig, four friends from Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, found the band “Lizenenced Technology”. 1984, Martin Kähling leaves the band. Soon after, the group renames itself “Camouflage”, inspired by a “Yello Magic Orchestra” song of the same name.
In cooperation with Axel Henninger Camouflage re-records “The Great Commandment” in Axel’s studio 1987. The single is released in September and hits number 14 in the German charts. February 1988, the follow-up single “Strangers’ Thoughts” makes number 20 on German charts. In March, “Voices & Images”, Camouflage’s debut album is released.
Years later they are still in business an on february the 1st 2002 Camouflage signed a new record contract for the German market with Polydor/ Zeitgeist (a division of Universal Music Germany). They presented 20 new songs. At this time Camouflage produce the new album “Sensor” with Rob Kirwan and TOY in London and with Gerret Ferichs in Hamburg. An international tour follows.
