QUAL is the dark solo project of William Maybelline, known as one half of the post-punk duo Lebanon Hanover. With QUAL, he delves even deeper into the abysses of darkwave and industrial, with a sound dominated by cold synthesizers, booming bass and distorted vocals. QUAL stands for an uncompromising, raw and aggressive sound that emphasises the dark side of electronic music.
With releases such as The Ultimate Climax and Tenebris In Lux, QUAL creates a disturbing yet captivating atmosphere that is steeped in nihilism and existential despair. His songs are characterised by a dark, apocalyptic vibe that is both danceable and disturbing. On stage, QUAL creates an intense, almost menacing presence that transports the audience into a world of darkness and sonic extremes.
