To secure a swift admission process we highly recommend all Amphi visitors to bring no bags or backpacks with them to the festivalground. If possible, please leave those items at home, your hotel room or your car at the parking space. (This also goes for “Call the Ship to Port”.)
However, we are not going to introduce a total ban of bags and backpacks at the festivalground!
In case you can´t forgo your bag or backpack (like for photo equipment), expect more indepth checks and perhaps longer waits at the entrance.
In order to still keep admission as quick as possible, we invented the so-called “Luggage Lane” at the Tanzbrunnen’s main entrance for visitors with bags. Please follow the local signage or the instructions of the security, who, on occasion, may ask you to take the “Luggage Lane” instead of the normal entrance.
As a simple rule for Amphi Festival goes:
- if possible, leave bags of all kind at home
- no bag / beltbag / small handbag = normal entrance
- backpack / photo bag / large handbag / shopping bag etc. = “Luggage Lane”
Animals of any kind are not allowed to be brought into the event area!
Please visit the detail page Arrival for helpful information.
There is a mobile EC cash machine on the festival site. Please refer to the site map shortly before the festival for the location.
An EC-cash terminal of „Sparkasse Köln-Bonn“ is also located in the RTL Medienhaus opposite the Tanzbrunnen in the centre of the building on the left-hand side (coming from the Tanzbrunnen).
Do not buy ticket from pedlars or other people on the street. Those tickets might be fake. People with faked tickets will not gain access to the festival!
We provide our festival visitors with two free drinking water points. Please refer to the site plan shortly before the festival for the locations.

Our festival venue provides sufficient permanent regular restroom facilities including wash-basins, mirrors, etc. Take a look on our area map:
The German Civil Law Code (BGB) puts parents under the obligation to care for the well-being of their under-aged children (under 18 years of age). For children, under 16 years in particular, a music festival could cause immense physical and mental stress, so we cannot speak out a general recommendation for children to attend. Personal care regulations – under consideration of the German Youth Protection Law – leave the final decision to the parents, whether to allow their children to participate in public music events (including the arrival to and the presence at the venue).
Unfortunately we noticed an increased number of even smallest children and babys in carriages being taken to the festival. Many parents already protect their children with noise protection or by keeping them in the back area of the venue but not all of them. Therfore we needed to adjust our admittance rules. Since 2014, the minimum age for children is set to 6 years or older. In the interest of your children we ask all parents who are affected by this measure for their understanding.
Children under 16 years of age may only attend public music events while they are accompanied either by their parents or an adult person, authorized by the parents in written form, to supervise their personal well-being at all times.
Children under 16 years of age may only attend public music events in company either of their parents or an adult person, authorized by the parents in written form, to supervise their personal well-being at all times.
Adolescents above 16 and under 18 years of age are allowed to attend music events on their own. However, they must leave the venue until 12pm at latest. Staying at the venue after 12pm again requires company by their parents or another adult person, authorized by the parents in written form, to supervise their personal well-being at all times.
The form for transferring the supervising authority can be found here, it has to be filled out completely and has to be signed by the parents themselves! The person, allowed to accompany and watch over the child, needs to have the form available at all times during the event and can be asked to prove her/his identity with a valid id-card! Adolescents above 16 years are also asked to keep their id-card/passport ready for an age check. Alongside these rules, regulating the attendance of the event, public restrictions concerning alcohol and tobacco-products need to be followed at any time. In case of a scrutiny we reserve the right to immediately remove smoking or drunken juveniles under 18 years of age from the venue.
Admission of children from 6 to 12 years of age
At our festival kids from the age of 6 years up to 12 years will be admitted for free. Of course they have to be accompanied by their at least one of their parents or a legal guardian.
