AMPHI 2026 – LINE-UP UPDATE

Dear Amphi family,

Unfortunately, there has been a change to our line-up just before the festival.

VNV Nation are unfortunately unable to perform at Amphi 2026 as planned.

Here is Ronan’s full statement:

„I’ve been dealing with bad back pain at random times for over a year now. I’d managed, so far, it but it had become more frequent over the last few weeks. After a string of specialists, theories and scans over the last 12 months, the very elusive cause was only discovered very recently and I had to have an operation last week to fix the problem. Knowing what had caused it, if I’d waited, there was a high chance of being in agony during a show as well as the risk of causing further damage which wouldn’t be a good show for anyone – not for me or you.

My specialist told me at the end of last week that I need some weeks to recover. In parallel, I have to start 4 months of special physiotherapy to get me back to 100%. I have to focus on the recovery to guarantee the best outcome. Since then, my booker’s been working with the various promoters on solutions for rescheduled dates. This means that the shows at the Castle Party in Bolkow, Amphi in Köln, the Unter dem Himmel festival in Thale and the Klaffenbach Open-Air have to be postponed until next year. Unfortunately, the Unity shows in Oberhausen and Berlin have to be cancelled as putting this line-up together is impossible for the foreseeable future because of the bands in the line-up’s other obligations.

Until a few weeks ago, I’d no idea that I’d be in this situation and I’d hoped for the best solution. If there’d been another option, I would have taken it but there wasn’t and I have to accept the instructions of my specialists. At the least, the cause of a lot of pain was finally found and fixed and no other problems were found in any of the scans. I want to focus on the process of getting back to 100% over the next months. I also want to finish an album that’s been interrupted too many times. I can focus on a goal of coming out of this better than before. I have wonderful people to help me do that.

Playing concerts is everything to me. I know that it will disappoint many of you and, for that, I am truly sorry that this has happened. It’s a lot to ask but, I would be grateful to have your patience and understanding while I get through this.“

We fully understand that many of you are disappointed by this news. This cancellation was a difficult moment for us too, especially just a few days before the festival begins.

We are therefore all the more delighted that we have managed to secure COVENANT for a ‘Greatest Hits’ set. A band that has been a mainstay of the scene for many years and will be celebrating their numerous classics with you.

The running order will be updated today and will then be available on the Amphi website and in the Amphi app.

Finally, we wish Ronan a speedy and full recovery from the bottom of our hearts and very much hope to welcome VNV Nation back to the Amphi stage soon.

Best regards,
Your Amphi Team
