We are thrilled to welcome the legendary British band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) to this year’s Amphi Festival! Since the early 1980s, OMD has profoundly influenced the music world with their unique blend of synthpop, new wave, and electronic sounds.

Formed in 1978 in Liverpool by friends Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, OMD is renowned for their distinctive sound and imaginative lyrics. The band has produced a plethora of hits, including “Enola Gay,” “Souvenir,” “Electricity,” and “Maid of Orleans,” which have become electronic music classics.

Their groundbreaking 1981 album, “Architecture & Morality,” is considered one of the greatest electronic albums of all time and propelled them to global fame. OMD has sold over 25 million albums throughout their career and garnered numerous awards, including the prestigious BRIT Award.

Despite their long history of success, OMD has never ceased to evolve musically. With each album, the band explores new sonic dimensions while maintaining their timeless style.
